How much does an Australian visa cost in 2026?
It depends on the visa subclass. This calculator shows the Department of Home Affairs application charges that took effect on 1 July 2026, plus the extra charges for partners and children included on the same application.
Did visa fees go up on 1 July 2026?
Yes. Most application charges increased on 1 July 2026 as part of the annual indexation. The calculator shows how much more you pay compared with the previous charge for your subclass.
What is the additional applicant charge?
When you include family members on your application, each applicant aged 18 or over and each child under 18 has their own charge on top of the main applicant's base charge. Add them with the applicant steppers to see your total.
What is the subsequent temporary application charge?
It is an extra charge that applies when you apply for certain temporary visas while you are already in Australia. Tick the onshore option to include it for visas where it applies.
Is the visa application charge refundable?
In most cases the Department of Home Affairs does not refund the application charge if your visa is refused. Check the conditions for your specific subclass before you apply.
