Portuguese to English NAATI Translation

Australian government agencies, universities and employers do not accept documents in Portuguese. Every non-English document must be translated by a translator accredited by NAATI (the National Accreditation Authority for Translators and Interpreters). This applies to visa applications with the Department of Home Affairs, licence conversions at state transport agencies, university enrolments, skills assessments and employer verification processes.

Check with the requesting Australian authority whether an apostille is required.

Brazilian CNH vs Portuguese carta de condução - The Brazilian Carteira Nacional de Habilitação (CNH) uses a Brazilian-specific layout with categories (A, B, C, D, E) that differ from the EU format. The CNH includes the driver's CPF number, RG number and additional Brazilian-specific fields. Portuguese driving licences follow the standardised EU credit-card format with harmonised category codes.
